The University would recommend both the commissioning service and the artists unreservedly to others looking for fine works of art to grace their collections and to treasure. The University will certainly be using the services again and again over the coming years to record our evolution and history properly for posterity.

Professor Holmes, University of Bolton

The University of Bolton came to Fine Art Commissions wanting a portrait of retired Chancellor, Baroness Morris of Bolton. We helped to choose the artist, assisted with framing and made sure that the painting was completed in time for the unveiling. The University was delighted with the framed portrait.

Fine Art Commissions was approached by the Jockey Club to suggest suitable artists to paint HM Queen Elizabeth II and we successfully put forward the artist chosen to paint this portrait. The painting hangs in the historic Jockey Club rooms as part of its impressive art collection and depicts the Queen with Estimate, her mare that won the Ascot Gold Cup.

We understand the important nature of corporate portrait commissions, which is often to celebrate the sitter’s professional status. This portrait shows how the setting in which the sitter is depicted can capture this; in this instance a university professor standing amongst students.

This portrait is of Professor Dame Jean Thomas, Master of St Catharine’s College, Cambridge. The artist has cleverly placed the sitter underneath a stained glass window with the College’s heraldic shield to illustrate the connection as to why, and who, the portrait was painted for.

This portrait of the Danish politician Pia Kjærsgaard, part of the Parliament collection, is an impressive example of how a powerful public figure can be captured in a more intimate manner, giving this corporate commission a personal feel.
