Max Denison-Pender talks to The Times following his trip to Ukraine where he painted soldiers in combat and normal people living their lives only 2km from the front line- one of his most dangerous trips to date. The paintings are for sale now and will be displayed in an exhibition ‘Leaving Home’ this October, 2023 at Fine Art Commissions, proceeds will be going to Ukraine.
“The painter, whose previous roles have included being an official artist for Team GB for the Tokyo Olympics, found himself just over a mile from the front line near Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine as he attempted to capture the lives of people caught in the fighting”
