Artist Biography

Clare Philipps was a British painter, primarily known for her classic watercolours that beautifully captured the vibrancy of the diverse cultures and landscapes which she encountered throughout her travels. Clare’s painting style reflects the freedom of an artist unbound by formal training. While working as a tour guide, she created a pictorial diary of the countries she visited.  Inspired by positive feedback, she held her first watercolour exhibition in 1990. Clare went on to build a strong following, painting for both corporate and private clients.
