Artist Biography
Howard Morgan was a distinguished portrait artist know for building on the character of the sitter, imbuing each portrait with a unique vitality and narrative. His works are held in prestigious collections, including that of the National Portrait Gallery in London. In the 1980s, Morgan gained recognition for painting three Queens; HM Queen Elizabeth II, the Queen Mother, and Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. Other notable sitters include physicist Paul Dirac and biologist Francis Crick. Beyond, portraiture, Morgan explored diverse themes, from dynamic depictions of musicians and orchestras to powerful battle scenes.
