Susie Philipps (b.1937)

Artist Biography

Susie Philipps is a British painter, formally trained at the Chelsea School of Art, before putting her career on hold to bring up her children, artists Clare and Nicky Philipps. Her first solo exhibition, held in 1991, was a sell-out. Encouraged by this, she built a studio and has been working towards exhibitions between a constant stream of commissions ever since. Her paintings show a true appreciation of form, colour, and light, making them accurate without appearing laboured. She enjoys a loyal following and her pictures are admired in collections across the country.
